Improving Your Personal Life

on Tuesday, April 14, 2009

When you build courage, you start to improve your personal life. Building courage will help you take risks to a brighter future that you ordinarily would not take. When you build courage, you put fear behind you. courage is the process of admitting that you have fears, yet you are willing to find a way to defeat those fears and not allow these fears to take control of you. It is ok to experience your fears at appropriate times. For instance, if a bus is heading in your path, swerving you have a right to fear. There is nothing wrong with healthy fear. The problem is you have to put healthy fear in its place and unhealthy fear out of your life.

Once you build courage, you will learn to self-direct you in life. You will learn to accept punishment and rewards gracefully. A courageous person will often feel motivated to accept blame and responsibility while reviewing their actions and using what they learn to move forward. Courageous people will step to the front, rather than stepping back when opportunities come their way. On the other hand, a courageous person will step back and take a view at his or her mistakes gracefully.

Sometimes the courageous person is spontaneous. It is never good to plan each day, because no one knows what the next day will bring in. Think about it. How many times have you planned something all to see it shatter in your face the next day. For instance, I plan to go to the ballgame tomorrow. Come tomorrow a blizzard, hurricane, tornado, wind storm, or rainstorm could change your mind. You planned, but did you plan for the weather. Did you make a backup plan in case your first plan failed. As you can see, planning is not always in your favor, which is why courageous people are sometimes spontaneous.

A person willing to improve their life will relax. This person will relax even when plans fail. For instance, if it stormed the next day the person will find something else to occupy his or her time and feel just as happy about joining this adventure.

To become successful and improve your life you will need to learn how to trust you. When you trust you, you can trust others as well. Unfortunately, we live in a world where trust is hard to find, yet when you trust you, you can’t blame others when things go wrong.

Improving your life includes using your creative and critical mind. When you can create new ideas, you are off to the road to success. You have many options in this world, it takes you to pull up resources to find those options.

Sometimes in life, we feel uncomfortable. In fact, this is common. Are you willing to accept your discomforts? Perhaps at an interview you feel misplaced. Are you willing to accept this discomfort and find a way to deliver a good speech to impress the interviewer. Alternatively, are you willing to allow negative energies cost you the job.

Do you accept?
Do you accept the things you cannot change? Do you accept the things you have control over? Do you accept other people regardless of how these people act? Do you accept you for who you are? Do you accept the changes that life brings your way?

Acceptance is your key to happiness. When you can learn to accept the good with the bad, you can learn how to live happier and improve your personal life. If you cannot accept however, well, reread this article again.

Righting the Wrong In Our Lives

on Wednesday, October 29, 2008

When you embark on a quest to right wrong in your life you discover all kinds of things that you really didn’t want to know about yourself. Self reflection is a must for it allows you to see just who you are. Most people keep extremely busy just so they can avoid having the covers pulled back from their lives.

Everyone wants to be happy, but few want to expend the energy it takes to find out why peace and happiness is not allowed to matriculate in their sphere. By learning to take responsibility for yourself and the way you think about things, you can make your life more positive and uplifting, and reduce or totally negate the influence of any hurt or negative energies you encounter.

When I began the journey of looking within a brand new world opened up to me. I discovered that I and no one else determined my world. I had the power to change my circumstance by first changing me. How did I do this? First I changed my mind about me. On my journey I discovered that I really didn’t like me! Go figure! I was a wonderful person, or so I thought that I thought that. Did you catch that? Okay guys I am laughing over here as I write this. Maybe I should have said LOL. Sidebar- for you instant messengers.

Me, not like myself? Oh Yeah! Big time! I was shocked when I traced back to when I started developing this mindset. There was a period in my life early on in my teens when I was bombarded with negativity concerning my person. Everything up until that point convinced me that I was all of that and a bag of chips. When I was blindsided with the notion that I was not good enough and did not measure up my world was knocked off its axel.

Over the course of our lives we are bombarded with negative thoughts, energies or scenarios that may come not only from within us but also from outside ourselves or from others. We are surrounded by a network of people, media businesses, governments, all telling us what has been going on, what we should buy and do, what they think is best for us, or what we should think about something. As soon as we tune into the television, radio, or open a magazine, it all jumps out at us.

The quality of our lives, goals, and the way we think about ourselves become affected by the energies surrounding us, and thus our thoughts. We need to learn how to protect ourselves from these outside influences of negative or materialistic thoughts that may come from or are caused by others.

Since we are bombarded from the time we enter this world with negative energy it a process to rid ourselves of the effects from it. Everyone knows the media will blitz you with the way you should think, feel and act according to their dictates. You will have to take a good look at your life and decide who you are as a person. Decide what you want the quality of your life to be. Otherwise you will drift along in life with some one else’s values and belief system with out ever knowing your true potential and spiritual possibilities.

Dream A Big Dream

on Thursday, May 22, 2008

Martin Luther King said that he had a dream. I am sure that when he first talked about this dream or vision people couldn’t get on board with it. Take for example Joseph, in the book of Genesis. He told his dream to his brothers and they tried to kill him because of it. Why? Because his dream elevated him above them.

The vision he had was beyond their comprehension. He also couldn’t articulate clearly what he saw. He did not understand the ramifications and requirements to fulfill this dream. His brothers knew he was favored by their father and that he placed much trust in Joseph.

With this in mind, Joseph lorded over his siblings that he had a special assignment. Jealousy from others will set in when the vision is so much bigger than you are . With this in mind let us look at Dr King.

His vision was HUGE. The county was racially devided. A lot of black people were afraid of his vision because they were so used to being second class citizens. They did not want to rock the boat for they were afraid of the ramifications. Others were ready for a change by any means necessary. They understood that change was often wrought by turmoil and were willing to pay the price. White people were afraid of his vision because they felt like he elevated himself above them. How dare he try and change the status quo! They wanted blacks to stay in their place. On the other hand you had a minority of whites at that time that knew it was time for a change and they embraced the vision of Dr King.

King was killed for his dream/vision and Joseph was sold into slavery. Yet and still because the Lord had given them the mandate and the vision He brought it to past! A God given vision has no choice but to come into fruition. Remember this vision is not for you. It is for the better of a people. You are just the vehicle or facilitator.

Hold Onto Your Vision

To have a vision or dream is to have a glimpse of something that God has specifically ordained for your life that He’s predestined for you and only you. The unique thing about your vision is that YOU are the only one who can see it and understand it. Your vision breeds passion, excitement, and anticipation just like a mother who’s about to give birth to an unborn child. Though she couldn’t physically see her child for a period of time, she loved and nourished it day by day. So it is with a vision. It is a process, an appointed time.

Are you struggling with the disappointment of others being jealous, non-supportive, and ignorant of my vision. I have. People I thought would embrace what God had given me did not. As a matter of fact they were waiting for me to fail. Some have even tried to sabatoge what I have been assigned to do. However God always has a ram in the bush. He sent me others that are encouragers and others that have been very instrumental in helping to bring the vision to past.

I had to learn that it’s not about other people and what they think, but it’s all about God and His timing for the vision to come to pass. After all, it wasn’t meant for others to see and understand. In time others will get on board and run with what He has given you. That’s why God gave the vision to me and not them. Hold onto YOUR vision, your dream, your passion. Don’t let anyone take it away from you. Keep trusting God and speak whatever positive thing or things that you desire for your life into the now. Ask God for what your heart desires most. Called the things that be not as though they were. Call the uncreated into creation. Make it to be so!

Understand that things sometimes don’t happen over night and then sometimes God performs a miracle and they do. Guard your heart from bitterness and resentment. I went there and did that and it was not pleasant. If you are there, repent (turn away from those negative attitudes and behaviors) and ask God to forgive and deliver you. Stop depending on people. God has told us that if He be for us, who can be against us? You will find that in holding on to your vision, it will get lonely sometimes. Until it manifests itself, you can’t expect others to see or believe it. It’s like when a woman is pregnant. No one else in the room can have that baby but her at that moment. Your vision has to be birthed by you and only you.

Hold onto YOUR vision no matter what it looks like! Other people around you may be realizing their dreams and yours seem like it is still at the baby stage. Others are galloping ahead at full speed and you have not even gotten out of the stall. Don’t despair and don’t give up! Because it shall come to past as long as you keep moving into the things that God has for you.

Don’t be an imitator of someone else. You know what He has told YOU! Wait on it! Be in peace and know that what He has for you is for YOU!

2008 Prophetic Word

on Thursday, January 10, 2008

Listen with your spirit to what the Spirit of the Lord is saying.
Many of you during this past year (2007) have been experiencing birthing pangs. Which were deep moves of My Spirit that have at times been painful. I have comforted you and spoken to many of you that you have been birthing My will for your lives, birthing My heart in your lives and being transformed more and more into My image.

As you have praised your way through these birthing pains and have endured them while still in obedience to my Word, I speak unto you that 2008 shall be the year where you shall see the fruit of this birthing.

This year is a year of radical transformation. This birthing will will not only radically transform your lives, but will transform the lives of those around you that you share this fruit with.

This fruit will come in the form of new ministry opportunities, new desires,
new moves of My Spirit within your hearts, deeper compassion, grace and
love, and deeper forgiveness to those around you.

For there is a time coming in this year where there will be a mighty
wind of My Spirit that is going to blow across My Church. This wind is an Euroclydon better known as North Eastern that is going to bring about a greater movement of healing and miracles and will be received by those who are willing and open to hearing My Spirit.

This Wind of Miracles is also the wind of judgment. (See Ps.89.14) It is a Rough Wind...see Is. 27.8. You will see Acts 5 in this wind! East winds brings locusts and dryness as well. (Ex.10.13; 14.21) for those that have not embraced the things of my Spirit.

My wind will produce great supernatural events/angelic activities and full operation of gifts/ministries. For those that have been journeying through Lodebar there will be a restoration of all things that have been taken from you. Creative miracles will be common place. You will hear more of translations and raising of the dead during this next season.

However along with this wind will come a hardness of hearts of those that do not want to conform to my Word. Both in the church and without. Because of this a Wave of Great Persecution will be released against the Church in these coming hours to wash and blow away all that is not of me.

Remember this is the same wind that both Jonah and Paul experienced!

Those who have been allowing Me to birth much within them shall be these ones that will see this mighty wind coming, and will alert all around them to be ready to receive.

Get in place and learn of me for the winds are blowing in this hour!

May You Rest In The Shalom(Peace) of God,

You Have Skirted This Mountain Too Long!

on Thursday, November 8, 2007

Zerubbabel was a descendant of King David (1 Chronicles 3:1,19 - see also Israelite Dynasties) who led a large group of Jews back to Jerusalem after their seventy years exile in Babylon.

Zerubbabel was given the task of doing what could not be stopped because The Lord cannot be stopped: He was given the commission to re-build the temple.

So he answered and said to me:
“ This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘ Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. ‘ Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone. With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying: “ The hands of Zerubbabel Have laid the foundation of this temple; His hands shall also finish it. Then you will know That the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you. For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the LORD, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.” Zech 4:6-10

Is there a mountain before you this day? Does it appear insurmountable? Like the children of Israel, have you taken your journey into the wilderness and skirted Mount Seir for many days? Hear the word of God to Moses, saying: "You have skirted this mountain long enough, turn northward.

To Zerubbabel He said : "Not by might nor by power, but by my spirit says the Lord of hosts. Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"

Let that be a word for you today! God will cause us to triumph. With God, there is always a way out, a way around, or a way through the wilderness and a way into His promises. He is the way, the truth and the life; He is the door. He's the how, the when and the where of it all!

Despise not the day of small things, for even as the eyes of the Lord rejoiced to see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel, He will rejoice over you when he sees you holding that thing you have believe for.

OJ Simpson Should Really Act His Age

on Wednesday, September 19, 2007

Over the last several days I have been watching the OJ Simpson saga. It is like a bad B movie that you watch over and over again, hoping the outcome is different. You know the kind of movies where you can’t believe the main characters are so stupid!

In the case of OJ Simpson a bible verse comes to mind that is apropos. ” When I was a child I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man I put away childish things” 1Cor 13:11.

My husband has a saying that he is known far and wide for. It goes a little something like this,” if you are going to be stupid then you had better be tough.” This sums it up in a nutshell.

According to Fox News, Simpson was arrested Sunday after a collector reported that a group of armed men charged into his hotel room and took several items the former NFL great claimed belonged to him.

According to the charges filed Tuesday, Simpson and the others went to the room under the pretext of brokering a deal with the men. Once in the room, Simpson prevented one of the collectors from calling emergency authorities on his cell phone “by ripping it out of Bruce Fromong’s hand” while one or more accomplices pointed or displayed a handgun.
The complaint does not specify which of the men involved was carrying the weapon.
Simpson’s lawyer, Yale Galanter, said he planned to ask for Simpson’s release on his own recognizance.

“If it was anyone other than O.J. Simpson, he would have been released by now,” Galanter said.
Simpson has insisted he was not armed and that he went to the hotel simply to retrieve property that had been stolen from him.

“You can’t rob something that is yours,” Galanter said. “O.J. said, ‘You’ve got stolen property. Either you return it or I call the police.”‘

Witnesses and authorities have said that they don’t believe Simpson had a gun but that some of the men who accompanied him during the confrontation were armed.

Everyone knows they have been trying to get Simpson for years after being acquitted for murder charges in 1994. How arrogant to think you are above the law. The Bible says “Pride goes before a fall.” OJ ‘s sitting in jail is a testament to how far he has fallen.

The Rosie O' Donnell You Don't Know

on Monday, September 17, 2007

Have you ever looked at the behaviour of some people and said what in the world made them turn out this way? Well I have often wondered it about Rosie O Donnell. I have never cared for her because she was always brash and uncouth. Her mouth is filthy and she doesn’t care how she conducts herself in public. Let alone privately.

I often wonder when I see people who do not have regard for others, what has happened in their life to make them so callous. My granny always told me never to look at the surface of an individual. She said ” what is on the surface is a product of what is on the inside. ”
With Rosie O’Donnell that is certainly the case. Her new Book “Celebrity Detox” leaves us some clue as to why she acts the way she does.

According to Fox News Rosie O’Donnell used to break her own limbs with either a baseball bat or a wooden hanger when she was a child.

This revelation, as well as many about her experiences on “The View” last year, is contained in a new book she’s written due shortly called “Celebrity Detox.”

This personal memory, so shocking, is almost thrown toward the end of what is better described as a long essay than a short memoir.

All the proceeds from “Celebrity Detox” are going to Rosie’s charity, by the way. So it’s not like she’s putting her most painful personal memories on sale for self-aggrandizement.
But reading this passage is heart-breaking. Rosie, who lost her mother at age 10, felt she couldn’t get attention or sympathy otherwise.

She broke her own bones, she recalls, “my hands and fingers usually. No one knew. It was a secret.” She used a Mets baseball bat she got on bat day or the hanger. Why? It was “proof I had some value, enough to be fixed.” She recalls that she was no longer sad about her mother’s death, but “distracted.”

Rosie also dangles another clue about her childhood in two sentences. “There were many benefits to having a cast. In the middle of the night, it was a weapon.”

We will certainly keep Rosie in prayer, because there is more here than what meets the eye.

Paula White & Divorce In the Church

on Monday, September 10, 2007

Today my co-host Lisa Darel and I talked about The Paula White story and divorce in the church. Leadership leads by example, or so we have always been told. In this case the leaders of Without Walls International is setting a very poor example for us to follow.

When leadership falls it causes others to stumble as well. Single women everywhere are questioning if a happy marriage is on the horizon for them. Many have lost hope because their Icon has fallen. That is why it is so important to not look to man. Because man will fail you everytime.

Subscribe to the RSS feed of the show Todays Breathing Room.to down load the show concerning Paula White. If you would rather hear the show now you can listen to the archive by clicking here.

Here is a quote from Christian answers concerning how the Lord feels about divorce.

God Hates Divorce

If anyone wonders whether there can be life and grace after divorce, it is worth meditating on a statement in Jeremiah. Often in the Bible, the main metaphor used to describe God’s relationship to Israel is a marriage. Likewise, the main metaphor for idolatry is adultery. So, through the prophet Jeremiah, God says, “I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce, and sent her away because of all her adulteries” (3:8).Many people know that in Malachi God says, “I hate divorce.” But they may not know why: God has been through it. He knows the humiliation of rejection and betrayal—from hard-hearted people like me.

God hates divorce because God is a divorcee. So he invented the first divorce recovery program. It started at a place called Calvary. The price was a cross. The program is still underway.

Domestic Violence Has A New Face - Juanita Bynum

on Wednesday, September 5, 2007

Last night I watched a True Lady. This woman displayed so much grace and integrity it was such an joy to watch her. I am talking about Juanita Bynum. This is truly a woman of character. I watched her last night on TBN and the one thing that struck me was her grace under fire.

I have always admired this woman of God and have prayed for her over the years. But I have never witnessed what I did last night. There is a pliableness for lack of a better word to her.

There is a different type of anointing on her. It is the anointing of a warrior and and a defender of the weak. A champion.

When she was abused so horribly I was enraged! Why? Because this should not have happened. I personally wanted to go and tear Bishop Weeks from limb to limb. Instead I sat down and wrote about it. Juanita Bynum exemplified every woman, every where that was dealing with being abused. Surely now something would be done about this!

One of the things that struck me was, the enemy had no idea what he set in motion. Because of this public display of humiliation out the ash heap rises a victor and not a victim. Last night I saw a Champion. I wait in anticipation to see how the Lord uses her in this next dimension of ministry.

Go to TBN and watch the archive of the two hour talk show with Juanita Bynum and guest which aired Tues, Sept 04, 2007.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution has some excerpts from the show;

Bynum appeared Tuesday night as a special guest on TBN’s “Praise The Lord” program, a Christian talk show featuring ministers, gospel artists and other newsmakers.

On the show, Bynum said she had no bitterness toward her husband.

She would not say anything negative about Weeks. “Nobody could give me enough money,” she said. “As long as he’s my husband I won’t break that covenant.”

Also on the show, she said the church would help people by preaching more about personal experiences such as her own.

While interviews other guests, an emotional Bynum said, “I came here tonight to declare that I can bear it, I can bear it, I can bear it.”

Before the television appearance, in a room with flashing cameras, Bynum said she has forgiven Weeks for the alleged attack and that her ministry will take a new twist because of the pain she has suffered.

“Today, domestic violence has a face and a name and it is Juanita Bynum,” said the pastor.
“This is such a difficult moment for me,” Bynum said. “First, I want to go on record and say I forgive my husband and I wish him all of the best.”

The pastor said while some of her supporters have kept quiet about the incident, she does not intend to move on with her ministry as if the attack never happened.

“Relationships are what they are, [they] have their difficult moments,” she said. “… This has changed my life forever.”

Bynum said that after the alleged attack she was holed up with family feeling “weak and helpless.”

But Tuesday she said she won’t keep quiet on the issue of domestic violence.

“This isn’t a religious issue, it’s a social issue,” she said.

Bynum would not say whether she would participate in the prosecution of her husband or discuss her feelings about him. She said she is focusing on her new ministry. “Instead of a victim,

I want to become an advocate,” she said.

Let us continue to lift Prophetess Bynum in prayer as well as Bishop Weeks.
